Community Conversations

Have you ever noticed that if you sit down with another human being that often you end up finding out how much you have in common rather than what huge differences exist?

We are all born to serve our communities and we need to do that together. In order to co-create better tomorrows we need to have conversations and learn about our aspirations and the possibilities that reside in our midst. What talents and skills are hidden among us? What great thoughts are waiting to emerge to become new movements, businesses, projects? Transform helps small and large groups work together to find the new reality desired but perhaps not spoken.

Methodologies and Practices

In both my business and nonprofit careers I have facilitated and delivered training, hosted conversations and participated in important strategy-focused sessions. I have received training from a number of skilled professionals and bring their influences into my practice of community conversations. One more recent influence has been the frameworks used by the Art of Hosting community. There are several methodologies practiced under the Art of Hosting umbrella that range from Appreciative Inquiry to World Café. Careful planning and attention to client need will steer the hosting team to the most appropriate tool.

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
