Anglican Church of Bermuda

My faith journey has been a winding road for sure. Baptised and confirmed at St. Paul’s Church in Paget, Bermuda. I left the church when I headed off to school overseas. I would attend mostly at Christmas and Easter and occasionally for other celebrations.

I began to feel something was missing in my life in my late 30’s and early 40’s and began to pay more attention. When I was 43 and just finished travelling the world, I had a meeting to discuss a job opportunity. The job never came up as our conversation was taken over by God in order to wake me up to what was missing. Since that day I have opened myself up to the possibility that God really does care about me and really does want me to be part of his family.

A move back to Bermuda in 2005 led me back to St. Paul’s and a call to play a larger role in the Anglican Church here in Bermuda. Through the church, I completed a certificate in Christian Theology and Ministry and now hold the Bishop’s license as a Lay Administrant and Lay Reader. I assist at services primarily at St. Paul’s and occasionally at other parish churches. I serve on the Church Society Board and Business Committee and also the Synod Finance committee. I use my skills to help the diocese listen to God’s will for the church in Bermuda by facilitating important conversations and connecting the church to resources when needed.

The Anglican Church has a long history here in Bermuda and I would like to see it pivot, shift and evolve with the local and global community.

If you would like to support the church and my work within the church, please feel free to make a donation through their registered charity.

“Pamela has worked with the Diocese in a number of ways over the years.  She has been a sounding board for me as I guide the diocese.  She has also facilitated several meetings.  She guided our clericus meeting at a time when relationships were strained and worked calmly and deeply with us to uncover hidden emotions and uncharted challenges.  Her gentle hand during a particularly difficult time was welcomed and we ended our session with a Trust Walk which enabled us to find common ground on which to stand.  She has incorporated Circle Practice, World Café and elements of Open Space Technology into other meetings for the Synod and Church Society.  Each time participants have found new opportunities to co-create our journey forward with God’s blessings. Pamela creates and holds space for others with trust, integrity and openness and gently encourages organisations to new and exciting places.”
